What is psychotherapeutic counselling & coaching?
I offer a unique approach that combines therapeutic counselling with coaching and creates greater opportunities for change.
I am trained to use coaching and counselling skills which means that I can hold an emotional distress while also helping you to move positively and actively towards something you want to achieve.
How does therapy enrich the work?
Therapy and counselling provide psychological foundations for relieving distress, healing emotional wounds, resolving inner conflicts, changing unhelpful habits of thoughts and behaviour, establishing new narratives and enabling people to live without a psychological pain.
Therapy and counselling offer deeper exploration of the self by understanding and accepting the shadow parts within us which we tend to ignore, push away, bully or disassociate from.
Therapy and counselling help to delve into the past, childhood experience and attachment styles which might provide isights into our ways of being in the world now and create opportunity to heal any unresolved traumas or conflicts from the past.
This is based on the principle that we can’t move / change / thrive in life if we haven’t acknowledged / understood / healed our past.
What does coaching provide?
Coaching has a strong orientation to the present and future and puts emphasis on nurturing strengths, values and drives in shaping a working or personal life that is fuller than the current one.
Coaching aims at translating understanding, insight, awareness into the action - even if we can make very small actions or changes we realise that we are not just victims of our past.
Coaching can bring awareness into positive experiences - excitement, joy, fulfilment, passion which we might omit if we focus solely on our problems, deficits and wounds.
This is based on the principle that we can’t move on / change / thrive in life if we don’t know our strengths, values and drives and can’t translate awareness about ourselves into actionable plan.
